Inspired by the 1930s French Cyclist Jacket, this piece reinterprets a classic silhouette through a modern lens, refining its proportions for a contemporary fit.
The main body is crafted from premium Japanese fabric, offering structure with a refined hand feel. The sleeves are thoughtfully panelled using deconstructed pure silk grain sacks—once utilized by early Chinese farmers—then naturally dyed through botanical methods to achieve a deep, nuanced grey tone.
Subtle tonal contrasts across the chest are elevated by an eclectic arrangement of irregular buttons, including botanical hand-dyed coconut buttons, custom-developed metal hardware, and fabric-covered buttons made from deadstock textiles.
Together, these elements create a piece rich in structural depth and layered character, where heritage and modernity quietly converge.
